Things I have not done in a few months: Update this blog. Things I have not done in 6 years: Exhibit at Long Beach Comic Con. Things I am doing this week: Both of the above.
Yep, it was 2010 when I first exhibited in Artist Alley at Long Beach Comic Con under the then-burgeoning Pop! Goes the Icon banner. At the time, we had only a handful of comics published, including two issues of Omega Comics Presents and three of my series The Utopian. It was a fun enough show, at which I met several people who are still friends to this day. But I also decided not to return, for several reasons, one of which was the fact Artist Alley was located next to a wrestling ring, the noise/music from which made it almost impossible to communicate with people most of the day.
I don’t know if that will be a problem this time around, but either way, I’m coming back to Artist Alley at Long Beach Comic Con this weekend (Sept. 17-18), with a whole lot more books to fill up the table–specifically table K5. I’ll also be bringing some original art, maybe a sketchbook, and plenty of hand sanitizer. If you’re in the Southern California area and love geeky stuff, maybe I’ll see you there, too?
