Thanks for the question, Dan. Yes, usually a link and credit keep the photogs happy. But these were EXCLUSIVE photos, and we were one of only three sites that Erik had permission from the record company to even release them to. Once they were posted, other sites straight up snagged the photos and posted with no credit or links — but it wouldn’t have mattered, because any copying would have irked the record co. So per Erik’s kind request, we had to pull down the photos to prevent any more pilfering. But by then, the cat was out of the bag, and though Erik gave the OK to put ’em back up, it wasn’t worth the trouble by then.
So, short answer: “nefarious content scrapers” ripping us off. Ugh.
